My principles remain the same with any scoring job - Focus on storytelling, character and branding. I want each score to be different, creating new sounds and textures from scratch where possible to create a unique calling card, knowing when music can and should take the lead, and where it should be subtle or indeed absent, always remaining subservient to the narrative.

I have over a decade’s experience working in post production sound as a dubbing mixer and creative sound designer, and 3 years experience on high end drama as a boom operator, so my understanding of the overall soundtrack plays into my use of music and I love to collaborate closely with the sound team.
I also sit on the RTS committee for the West of England as well as representing Bristol Screen Composers as a founding member and driving force, showcasing the amazing composers, musicians and facilities in the city.
I have given lectures and mentored students at Aardman Academy, helping them to use music as a storytelling device and work with composers.
A spinoff of the Lloyd Of The Flies series we scored, Adventures of ArachnoFly follows the exploits of Lloyd’s favourite comicbook hero as he patrols Cereal City looking for crime to stop or prevent. Full series available on Youtube on the Shaun and Friends channel.
The score builds on our Arachnofly theme, in an over-the-top comic superhero style.
