I also sit on the RTS committee for the West of England and promote the work of Bristol's amazing screen composers, musicians and facilities within the TV world.

My principles remain the same with any scoring job - Focus on storytelling, character and branding. I want each score to be different, creating new sounds and textures from scratch where possible to create a unique calling card, knowing when music can and should take the lead, and where it should be subtle or indeed absent, always remaining subservient to the narrative.

I have over a decade’s experience working in post production sound as a dubbing mixer and creative sound designer, and 3 years experience on high end drama as a boom operator, so my understanding of the overall soundtrack plays into my use of music and I love to collaborate closely with the sound team.
I have given lectures and mentored students at Aardman Academy and dBS, and hosted panel sessions for BAFTA, RTS and BBC Academy.
I teamed up with Aardman to score the trailer for the Annecy International Animation Festival, featuring Morph. I recorded with a variety of live instruments (recorders, whistles, guitar, ukelele, glockenspiel, swannee whistle, stylophone and more) in order to bring a handmade quality.
